Aims and Objectives
The Gordon House Association is established for the relief of any form of physical and mental distress and suffering resulting from problem gambling in all its aspects and in particular:
- to establish and maintain homes and hostels for those in need of shelter and support in consequence of compulsive gambling;
- to make contributions towards the establishment, maintenance and management of such homes and hostels;
- to provide, in connection with such homes and hostels, a rehabilitative programme to address the causes and effects of a dependency on gambling;

- to encourage and finance research into the nature, causes and effects of problem gambling and into methods of alleviating such causes and effects and to publish and disseminate the results of such research;
- to promote research, experimental work, scientific investigation and development into any other aspect of the work of the Association and to disseminate the useful results of such:
- to contribute to public debate about problem gambling and dependency on such gambling;
- to develop links with other organisations dealing with such problems or with problems in other fields which may throw light on those in the field of gambling;
- to make, or contribute to, grants or loans for training or other educational purposes that will further develop the understanding of problem gambling;
- to produce material in the form of periodicals, magazines, books, leaflets or other documents and to circulate such material that will further the aims of the Association;
- to hold exhibitions, meetings, lectures, classes, seminars, workshops, courses or other events either alone or with others that will further the aims of the Association;
- to issue appeals, borrow and raise money and accept donations and take such other legal steps as may be required for the purpose of funding the Association;
- to co-operate and enter into arrangements with others and to do all such other lawful things as shall further any of the above aims and objects.
